Leif, I wouldn't be so sure about that. The person who was most involved in the "No Pebble" movement was also a very big contributor to Democrat Party issues. He owns a couple of commercial fishing lodges downstream from that project area, though his wealth comes from other activities, and the "No Pebble" movement remains a large force, I'm sure.

In fact, I used to buy outdoor clothing from ExOfficio until their Web site began sporting the "No Pebble" logo. I don't find it there now, but it was there for years.
