There is no doubt, in my mind, that manipulation does take place in the market. I've been in the market since 1965 and met many people smarter than I am. Most of them cautioned me to be careful. They followed up with some examples of controlled trading.
Stocks that do not have a high enough trading float, and trade with small volumes are easily manipulated. At times Zenyatta fits this pattern and certainly it does in the recent past.
Stocks with high floats and adequate trading volumes are much harder to impossible to manipulate or control. But it still can be done with "rumours" from "good" sources.
So the advice that I was given, " to be careful" is always in season.
This is what I believe but we are each free to believe what we want.
