Tesla has stated many times that the Gigafactory will make batteries at lease 30% cheaper than existing batteries. From what I read, Panasonic uses only synthetic graphite now. They for one will have to either go with a battery grade flake graphite or graphite like ZEN's to get this savings. I would think that one of the NDA's is with Panasonic.
