I agree that there may be a bright side to all of this....
All the talk of who gets what is obviously important to someone for a reason. No deal, no sales, no licensing (etc.), then it is all idle talk. Somehow I doubt this is coming up because they find it to be an interesting philosophical discussion and nothing more. Perhaps there is something going on, or that will soon be going on, or.... etc.
That being said, there seems to be an issue here at least of perception. I remain confident that the company will explain it all in good faith. I don't think it is anything more than some sort of misunderstanding or matter than can be quickly cleared up by them, as I have faith in their own good faith. I really do. And I hope I'm right! ( :
