I'm still curious about this cryptic information...
I remembered today that a very good friend of mine from my college days in Seattle speaks and writes fluent Japanese. She works in the trade industry and does business with Japan regularly. Her mom was an immigrant from Japan (before she was born), so she has spoken it her entire life.
I have asked her to take a look at this. She has seen it very briefly and has confirmed that it is indeed written in Japanese. I await more information from her as to whether she thinks the Google Translate version into English is accurate (she is about to go on her daily commute right now, so she will have to look again later).
If I learn more, I'll post on this board for everyone's benefit.
