Harmony did not give up on this for no reason .

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the reason Harmony couldn't make it work is that Hughy had them surrounded. Their land package did not allow for exploration and all of the ore above the A shaft was depleted(based on the old model). Drilling was a crap shoot as this type of gold is not found easily and I believe I once heard Dale say that you need to drill at least 50 holes before you find something(maybe). It wasn't until they stepped out into the volcanics that they figured out where to look.
