But I think I can adapt what you wrote in a very small (but perhaps important) way:   I think Don most recently said that they are still in "negotiations" and not "discussions."

Yes, he always (to my memory) used "discussions" before.   However, in December (if memory serves me well) used the word "negotiations" instead.   And it was the plural and not the singular.

To me, that could mean nothing at all.  Or, alternatively, it could mean a lot - if he was being precise with his language (something he does not always do (intentionally or not), as we all know).   Technically speaking (as I am sure everyone will agree), a "negotiation" is a very different thing than a "discussion."   The former is much more purposeful and targeted, which could be a very important thing when it comes to selling a company or two!
