"Dismissing retail investors as a/the major part of new buying would be folly"
I have an admittedly very jaded view of our wonderfully transparent and manipulation free markets....for those not accustomed to sarcasm take note that I'm using it in spades here.
Retail investors have a reputation for buying high and selling low. Why? Two reasons im (not always so humble) o. 1) We love news. 2) We're incredibly sensitive to fluctuations in price.
Put point 1 and point 2 together and you have a recipe for losses, especially when the two work in tandem. When news comes out and the PPS starts climbing we assume it must be because the news is good....so we buy or buy more. When news comes out and the PPS falls we assume the news must be bad so we sell.
Bottom line for my cynical view is that ultimately...imo it is manipulation that is largely responsible for major price swings, and that includes both up and down. And for me that is never more the case than with purly speculative companies with zero profits that are burning cash like Resverlogix.
That means that back in early 2015 when we went from 50 cents to up around $3...imo that run was caused by manipulation, just as the fall from $3 to current levels is the result of manipulation....worked up, and worked down. A lot of retailers attribute a climb to performance and a drop to manipulation...but that's not my view. And as I say, my opinion is that this is especially true with companies like Resverlogix that haven't yet achieved any meaningful success....and a catalyst isn't meaningful for me unless it comes with profits.
Ultimately...if Resverlogix succeeds with 208.....then it will get noticed. Noticed by biotech and pharma players who don't rely on research by outfits like Zacks or articles put out by promotional IR outfits like Streetwise Reports.
Sometimes I think the reason firms like RVX use outfits like these is to keep whiny retail shareholders happy.
