Talisman has three shale gas plays in North America. The Marcellus and the Montney they list as proven and they have extensive plans for many wells to be drilled in those two plays in 2010. The Utica they still list as unproven and don't have near as much a capex in that area as they do in the other two. While it is possible they might consider an offer for qec it is also possible they are satisfied with their 75% share of qec lands for now and are planning to use the proceeds from their sale of assets to fund their capex programs in the Marcellus and Montney (2010 plans for 170 and 25 wells drilled respectively; further they list a potential of 2000 and 3000 wells for the Marcellus and Montney which would take a sizable capex to develop)
