Someone PM’d me the following question and it made me think a little more about the purpose:
do you think Poet are lighting a fire under Wavetech to get them moving as in the last release they are "pursuing parallel development paths" and "engaging with multiple third parties"
It is a good question and I thought it was worth sharing my answer:
From what I understand they have a very good relationship with Wavetek and have their own space in the plant. That multiple paths is more about multiple sources of epitaxy but it certainly could mean they also want to run multiple process flows using additional foundries...Something that has not been talked about is that this could well be the move to get POET into multiple foundries which is ultimately the plan. With those foundries ultimately licensing the POET process.
