Aves I know that Geoff Taylor believed 100% that the process not only could be transferred to a foundry environment but had to be transferred to a foundry environment. And that belief has been shared with all the industry people who have been exposed to and understand what the POET platform is. There is a learning curve that has to take place through cycling of the process flow and adjustment of the wafer epitaxy because it is a new platform. But it is far from the really difficult stuff that industry is trying to do with silicon today.
We tend to forget that the detector far exceeded the metrics of any similar device on the market today. It is a testament to how good the structure of the thyristor is. And for them to publish those early results was very meaningful in terms of repeatability of that device characterization.
So with all due respect Aves I don't really think you appreciate just how focused they are and how close they are.
