Hey, McWitty, unless it's your very own company, you really don't know it well enough to tout it strongly. A soft tout is fine, but no more. This goes three fold for any speculative investment - I've recommended POET to plenty of people, but with the disclaimer that it's risk reward profile is great, but the chances of failure remain greater than those of success, not to even mention spectacular success.
Some, who are more reticent to recommend an investment, often fall prey to the urge at the worst possible time, as the stock is rising and confidence among shareholders is high. In other words, just about the time that faithful longs are running out of further price-increasing investment dollars.
It's insidious.
