GHF you completely misquoted BMW. He did not say he was ignoring any delay or the share price. He said it was not bothering him. And for the record that is likely to be a much healthier approach. Read what he said a second time re how he rationalized that statement (you completely missed it). Listen to what Rainer says. He has removed all emotion out of the equation and instead employs logic which definitely provides a much more true measure to justify his investment.
This is the second week of October. The first week of the quarter. Suresh and company deal in the realities associated with products. They are not used to providing updates without firm information that can be taken to the bank. They updated us on the detector very early because of the exceptional early results that were consistent. Testing on the VCSEL is much more rigorous and it is unlikely that they would provide an update until those tests were completed.
This is a problem as we can see by the share price. They need to adjust to the market needs. Junior miners will often deliver hole by hole results. They don't wait until they have a deposit proven they provide indications along the way.
That is what this company needs to do in order to satisfy the market needs at this early stage. They seem to be operating this company like it is a major rather than a microcap. That might be fine in the future but right now the share price is telling us that they need to provide more communications. Quarterly calls are probably not enough at this stage to keep the market happy.
People are talking about getting feed up with waiting and selling their shares when really they are getting feed up with seeing red. That is unfortunate. How would those people feel if POET comes out with results that are in line with the detector?
The epi stack has gone through many changes in the past. Recall when they were making adjustments to lase at 1550nm just by increasing the concentration of InP rather than using an InP wafer.
Like I have said in the past I really wish Suresh was on board a couple years ago. He recognized that 850nm was the sweet spot for industry for POET using GaAs to provide unmet needs. These changes and adjustments take time but know that the very smart optical people at DenseLight and BB Photonics have hung their hat with POET because they see what POET can do and how their technology can be used in POET for future applications while still benefiting from POETs current focus on the SR and VSR AOC.
