I think those articles provide a pretty good general view of SiP. Think of the amount of time and money that has been invested in silicon photonics and where it is today versus the solution that the POET platform offers and the amount of money and resources that have been applied to POET. It really provides a good perspective. When you hear people talk about how long they have been invested in POET and "where are the prototypes" and they begin to doubt the technology you just have to look at what has gone on in SiP and say if only even a very tiny fraction of those resources were put to work on commercializing POET where would POET be today?
I still very much believe that when POET can demonstrate the fully integrated optical engine the semiconductor world is going to be astounded. Suresh believes POET offers the de facto solution and the way photonic integration is done in the future.
