Yes it is the optical engine for 10g and 40g AOC. So VCSEL, detector and transistor all on the same die in an area of approximately 5mm.

So when we are talking about 40g that is 4 VCSELs and detectors on the same chip. One could envision the 10g optical engine taking less space but it probably does not have to.

As a reminder this is the reason they are focused on bonding this tiny optical engine directly to silicon ASIC in the data center to move data and connect everything including memory.
