POET could position themselves to become such a dominant player, but unlike an Uber, it will need to be incrementally, likely component (detector) by component (VCSEL), device (integrated transceiver) by device (???).
The importance of being in the greatest (by far) incubator environment in the world, (Silicon Valley) is both audacious and for us, a risk, as there will be many who wish not just to utilize this but to own it.
Even when our issues with valuation dissolve, the next phase will be every bit as nerve wracking, although hopefully from a much higher level of leverage than many of us experience at this time.
