As another possible alternative would the offer of rights or discounted shares to existing shareholders be a favourable option? This could be in addition to options granted conditionally upon goals being met, etc. It may feel like less of a slap in the face to those of us supporting the company (and in my case, continuously adding more) through their rough patches over all these years.

In long and all in but it would be nice to shown some appreciation as a shareholder.
