Perhaps we could collectively commission a commemorative barrel of Glen Breton Canadian Single Malt for him, made from barley roasted over a peat fire. (The peat, of course, would ideally be supplied by a Mr. Sam Peralta. I understand he may have a surplus.) While it might (or rather had better...) take quite a while to procure the actual artifact, maybe some paperwork could be arranged. A certificate or something (in addition to a symbolic bottle of their best off-the-shelf hooch).
Disclaimer: I have no connection with Glenora Distillery other than having been a customer on occasion, so don't even know if this is possible, but IMO, provided Dr. Taylor is in fact a single malt guy, this may be a fitting tribute to honour such a momentous and lasting contribution.
