Fj, might just be a simple comparison, CEO schedules, CEO cancels. I thought of that instance in that context. I can think of a few reasons why they would cancel and, of all of them, a negative event, a setback, etc, would be the very last reason to cancel.
Why? 1) If material to the business, it would have to be publicly acknowledged. No such NR has been provided. 2) You would want to keep appearances at a "business as usual" level, and canceling for a negative reason would fly in the face of keeping such a "secret" You could still do a 20 minute presentation to cover the issue.
Strategically, the decision seems to be more in line with Sula's secrecy theory. I will elaborate further later on.
