There could certainly be a number of reasons but what comes to my mind is that the last of the warrants expire Feb 13 at $1. I expect that some pro-traders recognize that the warrant holders and the company will need to get the share price up early in the New Year to get those warrants in the money. In addition the unhedged shorts will want to cover for the same reason.

So how will POET get those warrants in the money for a $6.7 million cash infusion? I think we get news very early in the New Year and follow-up with the conference call.
