There is of course another possibility here regarding the takeover of Anadigics by GaAs Labs.
Potentially the beginnings of a consortium.
I had heard that Anadigics was not allowed to publicly announce their manufacturing agreement with POET. I thought that strange at the time and had really no conclusion as to why that would be.
It has long been recognized by those of us who follow POET that there is no way for the optical industry to compete with a POET solution. How can you if POET is talking about 10X,10X,10X. On this forum we are pretty much numb to those metrics. But when the optical industry hears this from POETs new management team of reputable industry veterans they must pay attention to it.
We have all been waiting for something to happen re commercial development with partnerships. If we want to go deeper and allow from more creative thinking GaAs Labs could be a front to something bigger.
Of course the other side of this is that the laser industry is very constrained right now as demand is outpacing capacity and this purchase is just one that provides GaAs Labs with underutilized capacity.
