An interesting thought but.
POET's strength lays in its ability to micro fabricate everything in one process/line from start to finish. That single chip solution provides everything needed without assembling multiple chips. Really the only other step is the packaging which may or may not be done somewhere else?
But most certainly as POET expands there will be different lines building different chips for different products.
I was poking around and noticed a link that I had to a CP which was never released.
Check out slide 31. It will put a big smile on your face. That appears to me to be an image of something that has been built rather than a design diagram (the IR device)
