Bottom line guys. POET can withhold material information for the right reasons that are acceptable to the regulators. Maybe some are more familiar with resource companies here. A resource company can make a major discovery and be completely silent about it if the longer term benefit to shareholders is positive or if disclosure of the discovery would be damaging to negotiations/the business plan. It is very routine for a resource company to attempt to secure as much land around the discovery as possible and negotiate deals without having to compete with other companies who if they found out would disrupt the whole process.
POET does not have to announce a thing if it causes a problem to the business plan. As a reminder we have been told by those that have attended the AGM that this board creates problems for the company when we connect too many dots.
Now as far as having to respond with a news release regarding the statements made by shandler this would only be required if the market responded to that blog with unusual trading activity otherwise market surveillance is not going force any action by POET.
