Scary this is why it is important that POET has good communication lines with the largest and most significant shareholders in this company. Those communications are well established and a will serve this company well in defending against any low ball offer.
What you seem to completely discount Scary is the fact that POET will be (and maybe has) presenting data to industry which presents the capabilities of POET for the first time in a standard that can be measured. If these metrics are consistent with what we have been told and why those industry players are interested in POET then it become inevitable that a bidding war will begin. Keep in mind that industry is running out of options so the typical rules of engagement have changed very dramatically.
You can talk about what Chris Chu said but the reality this very different set of circumstances and we had all better prepare ourselves accordingly. A major is going to want to take this technology and throw everything at it to move it forward much faster than anything POET could do in my opinion. They will want to control it.
I am completely convinced that POET is very aware of the value of this technology and will provide proper guidance when the time comes. Adams legacy will rule the day.
