I am hoping that one of the larger investments POET is making is within the realm of intellectual property protection. A few dozen patents does not a fortress make. It's not unusual for companies to have that many patents for a single device, let alone an industry changing technology that spans the entire realm of electronics. I would love to hear that they have filed dozens more applications so that the IP is ironclad. When talking billions of future revenues, millions invested to insure its integrity is money well spent.
I don't know much about licensing agreements, but I suspect a level of protection can be included in that language as well.
