Lots of good posts here tonight! Regarding what I think we can expect from POET in their efforts to shrink the node beyond 40nm. 28nm is recognized as the sweet spot for silicon. It is the most economic node in terms of Moore's Law.

I believe that POET will continue to scale well beyond 28nm in a planar design. At 10nm POET reaches the point where Quantum Tunneling can be utilized in the Single Electron Transistor.

I think that the silicon industry tool set has paved the way for POET to rapidly progress to the 28nm node and at that point I think it displaces the most advanced designs in FinFET. Once industry becomes aware of the POET Roadmap it will be turned on its head. A statement I have heard made many times by Lee Shepherd.
