What is very different about these next milestones is that POET has put a very big and ongoing effort into ensuring that investors know how significant these milestones are. This is really a first. So will we need to be able to analyze them ourselves to know what they mean. No. I believe they will be able to provide meaningful examples by reference to existing technologies and provide comparisons with performance, power consumption and cost. So if they can make statement around the metrics "having met our expectations" then one should be able to make the connection that the results will also meet the expectations of the companies which have asked for these devices. This will in my opinion create a very high level of confidence and the market will begin valuing POET on a much higher potential for significant deals commensurable with the technology benefits over the existing benchmarks.
Will POET use the opportunity to take a shot at Intel or Samsung? Maybe. But they will certainly be equipped to do so in follow-up articles. In short after these benchmarks are in the public domain POET will be "Armed and Dangerous"
