Every day we read more and more about how III-V materials are gaining real traction as a silicon replacement. Here is a good example of how this material is pushing out the old guard.
As you read this you need to keep in mind that this is about Galium Nitride development for Power Applications…High current rectifiers used in power supplies. POET has the capability to integrate Galium Nitride into their platform that can probably be looked at and investigated once the immediate target markets have been established as pointed to in the trademark application. It is possible on closer inspection that some of these power application are already covered under the POET trademark in anticipation of expanding the POET portfolio.
Anyway enjoy the read but do not be alarmed by this but embrace this as yet another sign of III-V materials taking over and being accepted as a silicon replacement. POET has this capability.
