The thing that this article shows is that big companies are searching for help to get better performance, and that III-V material is on the radar. The challenge Poet faces is to convince them to ditch the silicon. Everyone seems to be so stuck on Hybrid solutions. Which are still being devloped and increasee production cost. The other problem facing Poet is getting the raw cost of GaAs waffers down to a level that people are comfortable. Even though the extra cost is more than saved in the cheaper packaging. I think if we are being honest we can admit the challanges we face and decide if they are a problem. I dont think the 2 issues I named (which are backed by articles in the link library, dont ask me to show you) are very manageable and will be dealt with very shortly.
