From the company's perspective - I feel many of Fairchij's points are valid regarding credibility - but unless the company delivers, it would be shortlived. The broader market base I referenced would tend to bolster the share price for a while - increasing or maintaining the value of the shares in the company's treasury (as well as the options and shares of everyone else- insiders or retail). Traders could benefit from the increased base, but cheaper priced stocks tend to have more volatility and thus more opportunity for profit or loss. Long term, the value of my investment depends on the company's ability to find a buyer/partner - whether the sp is $2 at 1000 shares or $10 at 100 shares. Personally, I find it easier to trade the cheaper shares. My take-home message is that we haven't been able to maintain a $2+ sp and have to resort to the rs.
