Unfortunately in share trading there are many "Pumpers" (who promote) and "Dumpers" (who belittle) a stock for their own gain. The stock market essentially works on a cycle of emotions from indifferent when the share price bumps along flatly, excitement when the sp raises and fear when sp starts to fall.
Playing on these emotions is what causes these large swings in price and volatility as we have recently seen. Some company’s actually employ people to log onto forums such as this and pump or dump as they wish. These individuals may well have multiple personalities on the forum saying opposite things to confuse inexperienced retail shareholders.
Finally, this forum was created as an offshoot from stockhouse as the pumping and dumping there was rampant with little fact based analysis and debate. Hence many of the old and bold are highly cautious of allowing this to creep onto this board, which is of course to the benefit of everyone here.
