POET Technologies Inc.

It has been mentioned several times that "traders are going after people's stop loss markers". I'm curious as to how this is accomplished. Are the traders just guessing/surmising that people automatically put stop losses on at particular prices...say 10% below the current SP? Or, is there something else to this???
