JOB DESCRIPTION
The Vice President Operations will be a key executive reporting to the CEO. In this role, the Vice President of Operations will be key contributor to ongoing corporate strategy development and lead both strategic and tactical execution across all operations areas.

This individual will manage teams in the United States and Asia, comprised of full-time and contract resources. This leader will expand our current capabilities in both North America and Asia and evaluate opportunities to leverage capability in other parts of the world consistent with our business model.

Responsibilities include:
Management of the day-to-day operations to meet monthly and quarterly goals defined by the annual budget and created through strategic planning in conjunction with the company business planning process.

Development of and monitoring Key Performance Indicators driving continual improvement and operational effectiveness and efficiency
Product Manufacturing, quality assurance, material/supply chain, shipping, logistics, purchasing, strategic sourcing, service, product quality and supplier quality.

Lead the manufacturing team to work together cooperatively with the engineering team to introduce new products efficiently and on schedule
Oversee all activities related to material purchases, warehousing, and inventory control.
Process improvement activities in all areas of operations with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and product quality.

REQUIRED SKILLS
The candidate must have a strong sense of urgency and ownership, with a positive and enthusiastic personality. As part of our executive team, the individual must also have a strong strategic and commercial perspective and be motivated by the opportunity to produce new and complex products in a cyclical environment.

The individual must be both an effective leader and a constructive team player, with appropriate Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management professional qualifications and expertise. Excellent communication skills for listening, writing, presenting, coaching and leading change are essential.

This individual must have excellent negotiation as well as project management skills and be experienced and comfortable dealing with suppliers/vendors, internal and external business partners, and customers.

Clear understanding of what is required to scale operations, organically and through strategic partnerships, to very high volume of manufacturing, high quality, predictable cost and exceptional end customer satisfaction.

Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory and fiduciary demands consistent with operations in a US public entity and as a global consumer/supplier.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have successfully managed a Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization, with a minimum of 10 - 15 years industry experience in capital equipment manufacturing.

Prior experience in detail could include:

· Implementation of Lean Manufacturing processes.
· Working familiarity with best practices on Product Quality issues, i.e. areas of framework, structure, tools and necessary in-house systems to meet Quality standards
· Implementation of ISO and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices.
· New Product Introduction (NPI) into Manufacturing, i.e. phase gate reviews, and proven track record of transitioning a product from Engineering into Manufacturing.
· The adaptation of larger company processes into a medium sized company.
· Experience with process validation and continuous improvement techniques (Six Sigma, etc.)
· Ability to grasp issues in a dynamic environment and organize activities to quickly achieve desired outcomes.
· MRP implementation and Inventory control

EDUCATION
BS degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years of broad technology-based manufacturing experience. Advanced Degrees in related fields desirable.
