I think I have been a little naive - I was under the impression that you and Sasha did not get a salary and that was the reason you two receved so many options. Certainly this is what was said very often on this board. And it was also quoted as the reason you occasionally sold your some of your shares....you didnt get a salary, but like everyone else you need money to live on, so you sold some shares. Stupid me I guess, for falling for that.
But tell me, exactly what qualifications and experience does Sasha have to be able to land a job that pays around $100K per year. $100K is a lot of money and not easily earned. As far as I know a Master's degree in Business Adminstration is by itself not enough to command such a salary, you'd need a pretty impressive Resume and scads of experience to back it up. So exactly what does he bring to the table that another person wouldnt be able to do for 35K per year. And if he can do the job then why hire an IR firm like Agoracom.
I could be wrong but I recall reading a post here some years ago that you met Sasha in a gym, took a liking to him and hired him. Is this true? Or is true that you two were classmates, as has been posted here recently?
I have nothing against Sasha and wish him well, but I really dont like nepotism or chronyism and I especially dont like anyone squandering shareholder money. So please tell us what is Sasha's background, what are his qualifications, what is his job description, what sort of performance measures have you put in place to evaluate his work and how has he performed and what has he delivered to date. Tell us how his abilities are so unique that we are justified in paying him such a high wage, and why his work cannot be combined with your duties. Tell us what he contributes and what he brings to the table that a lesser paid employee cannot.
Please also tell us whether Sasha flies Busines class when he travels?
Another poster has pointed out a strange connection between ex-employees of Rio Tinto and our BoD. Could you please comment upon this too.
