Visualizing Pounds in the Ground/ Shares per Cubic Meter
I was looking through the assays, gamma logs, and NI-43-101 trying to get an idea what today's news release means in terms of pounds in the ground. Here's some food for thought:
- Comparing the PLS14-248 gamma logs and the assays, 75000 cps corresponds to in the range of 40-65% uranium. PLS15-352 has hit similar peaks of over 75000 cps on the gamma logs. Looking forward to seeing the assays.
- The high grade core zone (indicated) at R780E is 18.21% U3O8 with the main zone averaging 0.69%. R00E which is closer to R600W has an average density of 1.15%.
- According to the NI-43-101 the density of rock at TripleR is on average a minimum of 2.25 t/m3 (4950 lbs/m3).
- At 18.21% U3O8 at a density of 2.25 t/m3, that’s ~900 lbs U3O8/ m3. A cubic meter is about the size of a square kitchen table.
- At 18.21% average grade, 1MM lbs of U3O8 is about 1000 m3 of rock (i.e. a cube 10m x 10m x 10m). 1000 m3 is about the volume of two average Canadian houses.
- According this morning’s news release: “[PLS15-352] Downhole deviation surveys show that the hole deviation trajectory did not behave as expected and thus the separation of mineralization between hole PLS15-343 appears to be within 3m - 10m.” Both are high grade drill holes. Even at these short distances, the pounds are adding up quickly.
- Just for fun, at 18.21% U308 (900 lbs/ m3 ), a high grade m3 of rock at PLS has a value of about 2300 FCU shares (at $1.25 - PLS is valued at about $3.22 per lb U3O8).
