El Niño Ventures Inc. is a mineral exploration company, focused on copper/cobalt exploration in the DRC (see releases January 12, 2009, February 25, 2009, March 11, 2010 & June 24, 2010). The Company holds a 50% interest in an extensive base metal project located within the Bathurst mining camp in Ontario, Canada. El Niño finalized its option agreement in April 2010 with Votorantim Metals Canada Inc. and Xstrata Zinc whereby Votorantim may earn a 50% interest in El Niño's landholdings by expending $10 million over 5 years and may further increase its interest in El Niño's and Xstrata Zinc's landholdings to 70% by expending an additional $10 million over a further two years.
KASALA DRILLING HIGHLIGHTS
Numerous intercepts with widths from 50 metres to 91 metres of mineralization
High grade intercepts:
- 7 metres @ 7.07% Cu (Hole MDB-DD-019)
- 10 metres @ 6.07% Cu (Hole MDB-DD-011B)
- 11 metres @ 3.68% Cu (Hole MDB-027)
- 21 metres @ 2.42% Cu (Hole MDB-026)
Results of a 4071 sample soil geochemical sampling program from the Kasala Copper Project in the Democratic Republic of the Cong. Kasala Block A was the subject of the Company's 2008 drill campaign. 35 Reverse Circulation drill holes totaling 3,336 meters and 15 diamond drill holes totaling 2,584 meters were completed on Kasala Block A leading to the discovery of significant copper mineralization. Although the Company has reduced the number of projects in the DRC, including thePhoenix Project, the Kasala Project continues to be the Company's main project.

Chairman & Acting CEOMr. Barr has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry and is the President, CEO and Director of Pacific North West Capital Corp., Fire River Gold Corp. and Next Gen Metals Inc. He was the founder of CanAlaska Uranium, Freegold Ventures and El Nino Ventures. In 2004 Mr. Barr set a corporate mandate to hire CEO's and Presidents to manage the above companies. After working for two years with the Presidents of CanAlaska Uranium , Freegold Ventures, and El Nino Ventures Mr. Barr resigned from the Companies and their respective Board of Directors. On September 25, 2009, Mr. Barr was appointed Chairman and acting CEO of El Nino Ventures Inc.
