I don't see the Russian angle as he owes everyone money. Why would he piss of China who is actually one of his biggest customers for oil. I see a few different options:

1 - buyout by Chinese - not the best offer but only path we had

2 - Deal with Venezuela - skeptical of this one with Chavez

3 - Announce we are filing for arbitration

4 - Annouce we are filing for bankruptcy protection - highly unlikely as we will at least go for arbitration with skeleton crew.

Either way we are getting some news which is nice fresh breath of air.
