CJ, I'm not sure what it was in this article that caused you to say that you take Venezuelanalysis with a grain of salt.
I really thought that was a great read....It has given me a much greater sense of what is going on in VZ, and why it takes so long to get anything done, if indeed it does get done. I had no idea that the various levels political leadership, and of government, were so fractured and at odds with each other. To me, it was unbiased, although there was no raging Capalist involved.
Certainly there are 'warring' factions within the government...Funny thing is, that as I was reading it, I thought to myself.....All these different attempts to bring in different types of socialism, seem to create the same situation. Thousands of low-middle-and high level individuals who want POWER, pure and simple. Oh I'm sure they all believe they are leading a part of the stuggle for what they see as 'the socialism', but it turns them into what they are supposed to fighting.....leaders who want to see it done their way, and will often do what is nescessary to make it happen, to impose it on others.
I suppose that is one of the biggest things wrong with socialism......... the only way it can happen is by domineering.....being some kind of dictator.
I can believe now, that what we see and hear from various media.......is not nescessarily at all what Chavez is putting out, or wanting. It really seems that he doesn't have a real firm grip on the 'controls'.
