Caracas. - The distant brigadier general Antonio Rivero, that was to position five years of the agency of Civil defense, said that the decision to put aim to its military specialty of 25 years and nine months mainly must to “the presence and interference of the Cuban military in the National Armed Forces”.

In press conference the military man indicated that the Cubans are participating in the troop training, including the courses of snipers and also a paper in intelligence, armament, communications and other areas are playing. There was no immediate reaction of the Government.

“I have directly been able to evaluate or to be in knowledge (of this) due to the last position” that it had, the headquarters of the General Staff of the Fifth Infantry division of Forest, indicated.

In “courses like the one of snipers where already the presence is made present because of the military and Cuban personnel in that so important aspect for our formation, qualification and military training”, it emphasized.

Declaration of Rivero adds to reclamations of critics of Chávez, who recently they have denounced that the Cuban advisers and agents hold different positions in the Government, including the military sector.

The leader Julio Borges demanded at the beginning of April that the government provides information about Cuban that they work for the government, affirming that “never before in the history we had allowed that citizen of another country positions keys associated with the national security assumed”.

Borges, without giving more details, indicated that the Cuban advisers are working in high levels in the administration of the ports, the telecommunications, immigration, the police, the electrical sector and the key oil industry.

Like director of Civil defense, Rivero used to be the voice of the Government to respond to the catastrophes, including the plane crashes and floods. It was replaced in that position in 2008 after five years and returned to his functions in the army.

The ex- military head showed that the Cubans also were involved in the education of the military doctrine concerning control and are in divisions like the military engineering.

The Cubans now are located in “vital areas of high level of the security of the State”, indicated.

Rivero also denounced the “politicalization” of the military, including the soldiers, who now salute with the motto: “Socialist Mother country or death”.

Among others complaints, condemned the recruitment of those in favor of Chávez to integrate an increasing civil militia and added that he is incorrect that the President, like civilian, uses a military uniform since Chávez in acts even does of political proselytism. (AP)
