A production decision now would not affect the cashflow in the short term at all. It'll probably be at least two years before any significant cash commitment would be required. And that is a long time to find a partner to minimize the upfront costs for TECK.

And TECK would not have bought the Liard shares without deciding to move ahead with the project. If their plan was/is to put SC on the back burner, why buy the Liard shares now?. All they have to do is announce SC will be postponed a few years and nobody would touch those Liard shares. On the other hand, if a production decision is made, those Liard shares become a hot item all of a sudden.
