Let's not turn this into a political board but even the Parti Quebecois in Quebec (far left)who promised huge tax hikes for miners finally changed their mind for a very low raise that should not change much moving forward.

“While we’re not happy to see an increase in taxes at all given the state of the equity markets right now, from what we can tell it’s not a deep impact,” said Sean Roosen, chief executive of Osisko Mining Corp.

And this party elected last autumn in the Belle Province were promising huge tax raises for miners, compared to BC NDP who said they will still be ''mining friendly''....
