he didn't really say exactly that they would only pay only a 30% premium. I took it as "gone are the days where you can just pay 30% to 50% premium and away you go, that some of the attractive properies have a couple of inside shareholders that hold the bulk of shares so you are left to deal with these insiders interests through negotiations" (not exact wording) and in fairness he did also say something to the effect "that this sometimes means the price doesn't make sense anymore".

Next he described the value of long-lived assets to capture multiple price spikes again sounding like he was describing Schaft Creek. This was another Teck statement to shareholders to the effect of "Hey get ready, the price tag on the last few of the real biggies out there is going way up and its not just about grades".

Negotiations eh?
