The company doesn't decide to "drop" or "not drop" a BFS as if it is a strategy choice at this stage. The BFS WILL be completed. The company WILL release it to the public, of course unless they are bought out first. These are critical developments in motion that cannot be derailed imo, and are unlikely to be delayed further with all of the circumstances and recent arrangements made.
The macro environment this month means very little to the buy-out valuation of a 50-year to 100-year project. Ernesto knows this and Teck and large miners know this. Don Lindsay is on record saying that "... the last billion people to rise into the middle class took some 30 years, and the next billion people to rise into the middle class will only take the next 10 years -- that's a whole lot of copper needed over the next ten years." This kind of thinking is what drives buy-out price negotiations.
Keep the faith, the end-game is upon us. And to the other poster's question, yes I do beleive that a deal has already been struck and the deal details are currently being hammered out by lawyers and negotiators.
