Remember that CF acquired vast swaths of properties in the "area of mutual interest" within 2 km of the original property. These vast properties (with all the new targets on big pink/purple blobs) are to be offered but not guaranteed to be bought by Teck. If CF puts out to Teck a "too high" a price tag for the extra properties, then the acquired properties are Copper Fox 's to keep, no? We would then have 100% interest on those kept properties vs just 24.78%, no?
Does anyone else see the potential for Copper Fox to keep a lot of property 100% all to our own, to either drill or auction off for a higher price?
Since the last thing Teck wants is an auction, maybe Copper Fox uses this contract quirk as a negotiation leverage to extract maximum buy-out value.
Either way, I get a sense that any deal being struck right now may surprise us in it's complexity, part cash part Teck shares for just certain Schaft Creek properties and Mess Creek, spinco with new earn-back option agreement to drill the GK and ES zones maybe a few 100% interest properties up north or down south to explore on top of all that.
Who better than Elmer to execute Teck's mamouth exploration plans for the area?
