AuRico Gold is a leading intermediate Canadian gold and silver producer with a diversified portfolio of high quality mines and projects in Canada, Mexico and Australia.

The Company currently has five operating properties including the Ocampo mine in Chihuahua State, the El Chanate mine in Sonora State, the El Cubo mine in Guanajuato State, as well as the Fosterville and Stawell gold mines in Victoria, Australia.

The first production from the exciting Young-Davidson gold mine in northern Ontario is expected by the end of Q1 2012 as the mine ramps up production to over 200,000 ounces of annual production by 2014.

AuRico’s strong pipeline of development and exploration stage projects includes advanced development properties in Mexico and British Columbia and several highly prospective exploration properties in Mexico.

    René Marion, P. Eng.
    President & Chief Executive Officer

    As an experienced senior executive in the mining sector, René Marion has over 25 years of experience in mining operations, operational management, and mine engineering – along with acquisition evaluations, feasibility studies, development, and mergers – throughout the world.

    During his career, René held increasingly senior roles with Barrick Gold Corporation, including Vice President, Technical Services. In 2005, he was appointed as Barrick's Regional Vice President, Russia and Central Asia. Prior to joining AuRico, he had been seconded as Chief Operating Officer of Highland Gold Mining Ltd., a publicly traded strategic partner of Barrick Gold.

    Mr. Marion holds a BSc Degree in Mining Engineering (1985) from Queens University.

    Scott Perry, CPA
    Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

    Scott Perry has held increasingly senior financial positions in the mining industry over the past 13 years. Prior to joining AuRico, he was the Chief Financial Officer (seconded from Barrick Gold Corporation) for Highland Gold Mining Ltd., where he managed the company's financial reporting and compliance commitments, as well as the execution of its short- and long-term financial and operational strategies. Scott also led Highland Gold's business and corporate development initiatives. Before being seconded to Highland Gold, Scott held increasingly senior financial roles with Barrick in Australia, the United States, and in Russia, Central Asia where he was instrumental in establishing Barrick's presence in Russia and assembling a strong financial team.

    Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Curtin University, a post-graduate diploma in applied finance and investment as well as a CPA designation.

    Russell Tremayne
    Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

    Russell Tremayne brings over 35 years of solid mining experience to AuRico throughout the world, with the majority of that time spent in senior leadership roles. Most recently, he was Director of Operations with Highland Gold Mining Ltd. While at Highland, Russell was responsible for all operational activities, including production, development/stripping, milling operations, engineering and production planning, logistics and purchasing, quality control, utilities, and communications. Russell also had overall responsibility for budgets and management reporting.

    Russell has a great deal of experience – and a lot of success – dealing with safety and environmental issues. His extensive experience and solutions-driven approach has greatly strengthened AuRico's operational team and provides the leadership required to enhance operational efficiencies that will position the Company to achieve its potential.

    Russell holds an Accredited Bachelor of Science Mining degree.

    Peter Drobeck, P. Geo.
    Senior Vice President, Exploration and Business Development

    Peter Drobeck recently held the position of Vice President of Exploration at Electrum USA Ltd. in Denver, where he led the exploration efforts of one of the largest privately funded gold exploration programs in the world.

    Peter has 28 years of mining industry exploration experience focused on precious and base-metal exploration in a wide variety of geologic, geographic, and cultural settings in North and South America, Africa, and Asia. His work has ranged from project generation to extensive project management and evaluations in new and established mineralized belts. His employers have includedsmall junior exploration groups to some of the largest gold producers. This mixture has allowed Peter to develop a mix of streamlined aggressive exploration style (typical of junior companies) and top technology (typically available to major companies).

    Over the years, Peter has trained and led a culturally diverse group of geologists and has shown an increasing level of responsibility. During the past decade, he has built four cost-effective, aggressive, field-oriented, and successful mineral exploration programs. Peter is fluent in Spanish and has worked for over three years in Mexico in the past, along with 11 years in other Latin American countries.

    Chris Bostwick, BSc
    Senior Vice President, Technical Services

    Chris Bostwick is AuRico's Senior Vice President, Technical Services. He brings over 23 years of experience in the global mining industry, 19 of which were spent with Barrick Gold Corporation in various roles. Chris also has extensive experience in operations, engineering, maintenance, strategic planning, and project evaluation and development gained in North and South America, Africa, and Russia.

    Prior to joining AuRico, Chris had been seconded from Barrick to Highland Gold Mining Ltd, where he led the Capital Projects and Technical Services groups for Highland's three development projects and one operating mine in Russia. Prior to that, he served as Barrick's Director of Evaluations and Capital Projects, working in the corporate development and technical services groups on mergers, acquisitions, and feasibility studies. Chris also spent nine years at Barrick's flagship Goldstrike operation in Nevada.

    Chris has a BSc Degree in Mining Engineering from Queens University.

    Chris Richter
    Vice President, Corporate Development

    Chris Richter is Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to joining AuRico, Mr. Richter spent 7 years working for Barrick Gold Corporation. As part of the Corporate Development team at Barrick Gold Mr. Richter advanced numerous acquisitions, including the $10.4 billion acquisition of Placer Dome. Most recently, Mr. Richter contributed to the design of the newly created Capital Allocation, Strategy and Risk Group at Barrick Gold. Mr. Richter holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Waterloo. Mr. Richter is also a CFA charter holder. Mr. Richter joined AuRico Gold in May 2010
