Re: Question

Coop, they're one and the same thing. There are a thousand grams in a kilogram, and a thousand kilograms in a metric tonne. So, there are a million grams in a tonne = ppm.

why the resistance to a reverse split?

I'm a new investor in SPQ, and quite frankly, I have long been put off (from investing) by the huge number of shares in the company. With a market cap of ~$20M, 30 million shares seems somehow more reasonable than over 300 million. Given that each shareholder would hold an equivalent relative ownership "slice of the pie" following a reverse split, I don't quite grasp the resistance of shareholders to such a plan. I've got 100,000 at $0.07, but it would be the same to me to hold 10,000 at $.70. Have I missed something important to consider?

Thanks,

Re: why the resistance to a reverse split?

"If you were so put out because of the huge number of outstanding shares - why then did you invest to begin with? Have I missed something? "

Touché! ;-)

Notwithstanding the general negative market perception of an RS, my DD said the proposed action was not on weakness. The price change tipped the balance for me. It's my smallest holding in the ROF, but that may change.

Thanks to all who offered their thoughts on this thread. I waded through a lot of older posts, but I'm sure I missed some good ones. I didn't mean to offend anyone, surely.

Re: Report on AGM /KWG

Copied from that post:

"KWG has a J/V with SPQ and FWR. Many of us have been following this. I believe it was earlier that 2 targets were drilled showing Ni Cu. This area is near NOT and their 'spectacular discovery of chrome' (words of Frank S.)

The crews are back in the field and this Tues there will be a meeting to review and in 2 weeks they will drill for the rest of the summer. In the words of Frank Smeenk they are hoping for big things, they have superb projects , money to work on them. As for the recent Chrome discoveries , important are FerroChrome, Ferro Oxide. The Chrome discovery would seem to have large deposits ...unique in the world. When NOT announced the Chrome discovery, Australia, for one, was immediately on the phone to NOT."

Re: stockcharts for NOT

I can't conceive of any NR that would take FNC to that level, that wouldn't also take NOT with it....unless they've got something major going elsewhere.

Re: Attention Noront Management

I'm by no means suggesting that there isn't more NOT management might do to support the SP, but I'm very solidly behind their performance to date. With the huge claim tracts to be drilled, the aggressive JV activity gets drills in the ground sooner than would otherwise be possible. And overall, the NOT drills have proved up deposits of higher quality than has any other player in the ROF to date. Following the chromitite discover at E2, I was astounded to see the SP plummet, but the market is not what gives me faith in this company. Proven solid management, proven solid results, and the addition of some really fine talent to the management team suggest to me that there is a blockbuster NR coming our way.

I'm sure Dr. Mungall will take great pains to re-examine all the past geological work, and incorporate new data as it arises, as any professional would do when coming on board in his capacity. It takes time to do this sort of work. I don't think NOT wants to release teaser or partial results any longer. NRs based on visuals are behind us, methinks. The market expects more, and that's just what they're going to get.

I don't know when the blockbuster NR is coming, but I have faith there will be one.
