That is a much better layman's assessment of what lawyers do that I have read here in ages. As Justice Oliver WendelI Holmes put it, "Lawyers spend a good part of their day shovelling air."...

I recall statements made by self appointed gurus on this board that lawyers were all "crooks", and "Justice was decided in the Halls of the Halls of Justice" in deals made by such crooks...

It is inetersting that you should start your post with a statement which is essentially a pejorative description of the role of lawyers in our society, and yet you spend the bulk of your post lauding the role of Lawyers, (DM that is), in giving EDIG and US HOPE that we will be rewarded in our inestment...

Your post clearly confirms that in LIFE there is no such a thing as black and white, it is only shades of grey, and every thing depends on ones point of view, and the INTENT of the parties... That is why why there is plenty of shoveling of air necessary to get at that truth...
