WesternZagros Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:WZR) ("WesternZagros" or "the Company") announces the promotions of Mike Tinkler to Vice President Exploration and Reservoir Development and Tony Kraljic to Vice President Business Development.
Dr. George Pinckney, who has worked for seven years in the role of Exploration Manager and Vice President Exploration and Reservoir Development has elected to semi-retire and will assume the part-time position of Executive Advisor, Corporate Projects.
"George has been an integral part of the Company's executive team since he joined in 2005 and has led our geoscience team's successes to date. His knowledge and wide-ranging experience will continue to benefit the Company," said Simon Hatfield, WesternZagros Chief Executive Officer. "Mike and Tony are excellent additions to the Executive Management team. They bring a wealth of experience to the Company and I am confident that they will be invaluable to our growth in their new roles at WesternZagros."
Mike Tinker joined WesternZagros as Exploration Director in January 2012, leading the Company's exploration appraisal and new ventures geotechnical work in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He will now assume Dr. Pinckney's former accountabilities for the Exploration and Reservoir Development group. Mr. Tinkler brings with him over 30 years of international experience that includes managerial positions with Husky Energy's Southeast Asia Division, where he led the discovery of three major gas fields in the South China Sea, and many years with Hunt Oil both in the UK and Canada. Mr. Tinkler holds a MSc, Geophysics from Oxford University and a BSc, Physics from London University, England.
Tony Kraljic joined WesternZagros in August 2011, as Senior Manager Corporate Planning and Joint Ventures. Mr. Kraljic is responsible for coordinating the Company's joint venture relationships and for providing planning, business and economic analysis, evaluations and recommendations. He brings with him over 14 years of finance, accounting, and taxation experience with CEDA International Corporation, Western Oil Sands, Shell Canada and Arthur Anderson LLP. Mr. Kraljic holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
