The problem with being too protectionist with hiring only locals is that all the people who work but come from other locations or areas at tarsands or at hibernia or in Toronto or Vancouver should GO HOME and look for work. Companies can not deal with just the local companies or business everywhere will stop. You want work then compete, instead of insisting on preferential treatment. Train, get experiance, inprove equipment and compete. Its Canadas Land and the locals have some rights but not exclusive rights. Over a hundred years have gone by from confederation and rights to everything is not given to only locals anywhere else in the world but Canada. Ask, protest, speak up. but just because you hunt some land does not mean you own it.
