Where there's smoke there's fire.... and I think some people are blowing a lot of smoke... some who think they are more clever than they really are.... some who are as pathetically transparent and don't see it as they are too narcisistic to notice.

Also to align oneself with another for gain also implies an inherent gain for both parties
